16. Invest, learn, and grow with friends

One of the best ways to learn about investing in anything is to join a club or group that discusses and/or teaches that subject. If you want to learn about Real Estate, join a Real Estate Investing Group. If you want to learn about stocks, join a Trade Group. There are generic investing groups, groups for women, groups for retirees, groups for singles, and about any other group you can think of.
Investing can be a complicated subject, so bring a friend or spouse with you. You would be surprised how two people attending the same training event can get two totally different experiences out of the same event, especially when they don’t sit next to each other and talk the entire time.
Learn with friends and go out and discuss what you have learned together. Have investment parties where you play investment games like Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow. It is super fun and you’ll learn something, too.
Spend 20 minutes a day studying what it is you want to invest. Read books, listen to podcasts, or whatever you can to teach yourself about the subject. You don’t need to invest in any class and I wouldn’t suggest that unless you had the cash to do so and you gave it the full 30-day serious consideration of thought. You can learn just as much from a book or several books for free. Free is always the way to go while getting out of debt.
