21. Make shopping lists and donβt stray from them
Dec 22, 2019
When you go shopping, go with a purpose. Stop running into a store for milk and coming out with $50 in groceries. You’ve got to get your spending under control and one way to do that is with lists. Lists work. Most millionaires use and love lists. Sir Richard Branson has written about his use of lists for years. Lists keep you on task. They keep you focused. Train your brain to only buy from lists. End spontaneous purchases. Remember, if you think you need something, write it down and wait 30 days. If you still think you need it, not want but need it, then see if you can afford to pay cash for it. If there’s room in your budget, then go ahead. However, make it a rule that if it’s not on the list, you don’t buy it.
